CAMs descramble a Pay-TV signal (without respect to the actual format of the underlying signal) and so, in principle, provide access to content in any format (MPEG2, MPEG4, HEVC, SD, and HD signals, DVB-S/S2, T/T2, IP etc…). In addition, as the CAM contains the underlying security technology integrated inside (Conditional Access), it is capable of enforcing controls such a Parental control that are typically enforced by the CA system. With the advent of the CI+ 1.3 norm, and even more so in the upcoming CI+ 2.0 and the adoption of HTML5, CAMs will also be able to generate a common user experience with the middleware or UI (User Interface) from STB of the same operator.

C-Kur TV’s USB Dongles are adapters that fit all mobile devices (laptop, tablets, smartphones, etc.…) and enable them to receive live terrestrial TV signals. The innovation C-Kur TV brings to the market is the capability to receive not just free TV, but also Pay-TV. The dongles contain both the tuner (DVB-T/T2 and ISDB-T) and a CAM chip (with optional card-reader) so that each dongle is fully autonomous to receive and decrypt any signal it receives
